Fix a cut in the editor
Bring back words CutGPT cut, cut words it kept, split, trim and move clips, and undo your changes.
Updated
If CutGPT cut something you wanted, or kept something you didn't, fix it in the editor. In the web app, open your edit and click Edit.
The editor shows your whole transcript. Words that are cut are struck through.
Cut or restore words
- Click a word to cut it. Click a struck-through word to bring it back.
- Shift-click a word to play from there.
- Double-click a word to change its caption. See Edit or hide a caption word.
- Press Space to play or pause.
Your changes are saved in this browser as you make them.
Use the timeline
Under the transcript, the timeline shows your edit as clips, with a filmstrip and the audio waveform.
- Click the ruler to jump to a moment, or drag along it to scrub.
- Split cuts the clip at the playhead. The shortcut is S.
- Click a clip to select it, then press Delete to remove it. Esc clears the selection.
- Drag a clip's edge to trim it, or drag the clip itself to move it.
- Zoom with the slider, or hold ⌘ or Ctrl and scroll. Fit shows the whole edit.
The transcript and the timeline stay in step: words you cut on one are cut on the other.
Undo and redo
- ⌘Z or Ctrl+Z undoes your last change.
- ⇧⌘Z or Ctrl+Shift+Z redoes it.
- You can also use the undo and redo buttons at the top of the editor.
Start over
Reset to CutGPT's cut undoes all your hand edits, including caption changes. It re-cuts the video with your current Settings, such as your cut pace.
When it looks right, click Export. See Export your video.
