Edit or hide a caption word

Fix a name or spelling in your captions, or hide a word, from the editor.

Updated

Captions come from your transcript. To change what a caption says, edit the word in the web editor. This changes the caption only. The audio stays the same.

Change a word

  1. Open your edit and click Edit.
  2. Double-click the word.
  3. Type the new text and press Enter.

Words you've changed are underlined in the transcript.

Hide a word

Double-click the word, delete all of its text and press Enter. You'll still hear the word, but it won't appear in the captions. In the transcript, it shows as ∅.

Export without captions

To leave captions out of the video entirely, turn off Burn in captions when you export. See Export your video.

Undo a change

Press ⌘Z or Ctrl+Z. Reset to CutGPT's cut also clears your caption changes, along with your other hand edits.
