Fix transcription mistakes

Fix a misheard word in your captions, and get a cleaner transcript next time.

Updated

Your captions come from the transcript. If a word is misheard, its caption is wrong too. You can fix it in the web editor.

Fix a word

  1. Open your edit and click Edit.
  2. Double-click the word.
  3. Type the right text and press Enter.

This changes the caption, not the audio or what's cut. Use it to fix a name or a spelling. If a misheard word led to a wrong cut, click the word to bring it back. See Fix a cut in the editor.

  • Speak English. The web app understands English speech only for now.
  • Record clear audio. Speech recognition works best when your voice is clear and background noise is low.
  • Check your speech model. If you switched to Fast in Settings, try Accurate, the default. Fast is the smaller model, built for speed.

Before you export, read through your captions for names and product words. Double-click any that need fixing.
